Obituary of Jessie Gray Zarecki

Jessie Gray Zarecki, 81, of Reid St., Amsterdam, passed away Friday April 8, 2005 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on November 25, 1923 in Louisville, KY, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Gray. She attended Louisville, Kentucky schools and was a High School graduate there. Mrs. Zarecki came to the area later on and worked as a Social Worker for over 25 years at the Montgomery County Department of Social Services in Fonda, NY. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She was a Democratic Committee Woman in the 4th Ward of Amsterdam and a Member of the Montgomery County Democrats. She married David S. Zarecki on August 23, 1945. In addition to her husband survivor?s include two sons: Donald Zarecki of Amsterdam and Douglas Zarecki of Speculator, NY; five daughters: Martina Mackie of Amsterdam, Judy Pless of Florida, Elizabeth Roach of California, Joyce Smith of Amsterdam and Regina Zarecki of Malta, NY; fourteen grandchildren: Richard, Dwight, Travis, Mallory, Jesse, Trevor, Lisa, Joey, Dwayne, Renae, Vanessa, Jessica, Chris and Cody. Six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Zarecki was pre-deceased by a son, David Zarecki, on June 26, 1996. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2005 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti presiding. Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 12, 2005 prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00A.M.at the funeral home.
