Was very sorry to hear of Dr. Fernandez's death and very surprised. I live in NC now and was just looking at the Obits for the area. He delivered my daughter on April 10, 1972. I always like and trusted him as a physician. My prayers are with the family.

To all Family Of Dr. Fernandez,
My sincere condolences. I never met Dr. fernandez, but he delivered me on July 22, 1969. I am the daughter of Jim and Debbie Sheely. My mother tells me of the story when she was having false labor with me on July 20, 1969, and she went to the doctors house and he gave her an exam on his kitchen table while watching the men walk on the moon for the first time. During this exam he was eating an egg and pepper sandwich I love this story when she tells me and I am still enjoying telling the story to my 3 children. Thank you Dr. Fernandez for bringing me into this world!!! I know that you are in God's kigdom now with my Father whom you new well, and are watching over all the "babies" Thank you again!

I have vague but fond memories of Dr. Fernandez from my childhood. My mother Sandra worked with him when she was a nurse in the maternity ward at Nathan Littauer years ago. My condolences to his family.

Dr. Fernandez delivered both my children who are now 30 and 27 years old. He was a very caring and humorous man! My oldest was born on Super Bowl Sunday and he had hoped he wouldn't miss opening kick-off! When pregnant for my 2nd, my due date was December 24th and Christmas was on a Sunday. Somehow he knew I would probably deliver on a Sunday again, so he made sure I was aware that his lovely wife would be preparing a feast fit for a king Christmas morning and he didn't want to miss it! When he arrived at the hospital early on Christmas morning to deliver my son, he had a "twinkle" in his eye and I knew at that point what a special person he was! I would like to express my thanks to his family for allowing him to take care of others and send my condolences. I'm sure you will miss him.

We were saddened to read of the death of Dr. Fernandez. He delivered both our children in 1967 and 1970. He was a great doctor and as a bonus was approachable, friendly, and had a great sense of humor.
I hated to have him retire when he did because I knew I'd never find anyone quite like him. He was a one-of-a-kind.
Our community was blessed to have him among us.

Dr Fernandez became "my" doctor in 1962, with my first pregnancy. He delivered all four of my daughters. I lived in Northville for the first two births but in 1967 we had moved to Clifton Park. He was a wonderful doctor and I wanted him to deliver my other girls so I drove to Gloversville for all my appointments and he delivered my girls. My first two daughters were born in the old Nathan Littauer Hospital and the other two daughters were born in the new hospital. He was a very special man that I have never forgotten and I never will forget him. His memory and his kindness to me will live forever and I will never forget all that he did for me and my family. God Bless your families.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Fernandez family. As one of his many patients, I will remember him as a kind and caring man who had the ability to make me feel comfortable and secure whenever I saw him. I can still see him seated at his desk as I entered his office, proudly showing off a new fly fishing lure he had just finished making. He was truly the best!
