Sylvia, John and Family, My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family in the loss of your Mom. She is a person I remember quite vividly having spent my early childhood years growing up on "Park Hill", specifically Park Street. I remember walking by the house on First Avenue and seeing her, Gordie Cooks Mom, "Chickie's" Mom and others sitting on their porches. The memories of Segal's Market, Dylong's Market, Grums Grill, The Bengal Club and Buddies Store are quite clear in my mind. Sylvia I don't know if you remember me but I remember you and John, who I still see today when he comes down to True Value where I work. Years have passed but memories live on.I am now retired, having served 27 years on the Amsterdam Police Dept but I would give anything to go back in time and spend some time on "Park Hill" and Park Street with the Phelp's, Mancini's, Gomula's and Mazur's. Those were the good old days and like you I will never forget your Mom and what a nice lady she was.
