Obituary of Manuel A. Rios

God called Manuel A. Rios Sr., of Forbes St., Amsterdam, home to heaven Tuesday April 12, 2005 at his home with his family at his side. Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico on July 24, 1936, he was a son of Manuel and Isabelita Rios. Mr. Rios came to this country to Brooklyn in 1967. He later settled in Amsterdam where he was employed by Coleco for 14 years. He retired in 1986 due to illness. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Amsterdam. He leaves behind his beloved wife for 44 years, Elba Rios, and his beloved children: one son, Manuel Manny Rios and his wife Mayra Rios; two daughters, Ivelisse Ivy Rios and Elizabeth Mary Rios, both of Amsterdam; also, his beloved grandchildren: Alberto Serrano of Florida, Ivelisse Serrano, Maribel & Francisco, Manuel, Ninja and Wilbur all of Amsterdam, and his great-grandchildren: Angel, of Florida, Michael, Evin, Italia, Janelis and Kianna all of Amsterdam; his three sisters: Ana Rios, Carmen Rios and Lourdes Rios of Puerto Rico; his brother, Jose R. Rios of Puerto Rico, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Hilda Rios, a brother, Victor M. Rios and a nephew, Victor Alicea. The funeral will be held on Thursday April 14, 2005 at 7:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY, The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday April 14, 2005 from 5-7PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
