Obituary of Arthur Bornt

Mr. Arthur ?June? Bornt Jr., age 81, of Gloversville, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 16, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born June 22, 1923 in Gloversville, the son of Arthur and Sadie Billington Bornt, Sr. Arthur worked all his life in the family owned business , Bornt Waste and Metal Inc; where he was a partner at the time of his death. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Arthur is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane M. Ostrander Bornt; four sons, Terry and Carol Bornt of Mayfield, David and Susan Bornt of Glenville, Kevin and Denise Bornt and Joel and Christine Bornt of Gloversville; two daughters, Jana and Lewis Smith of Broadalbin and Patti and Paul Moran of Gloversville. He is also survived by grandchildren Jeremy and Ryan Bornt, Abbye and Mandi Bornt, Jonathan and Jennifer Smith, Andrew and Adam Bornt, and Shayla Moran; stepgrandchildren Jeffrey Spedding, Patrick and Kathleen Moran, Eric and Chris Francis; and step great grandchild Jaiden Shults. His surviving brothers are Richard, Joseph, John and James Bornt. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his brothers Harold and Ronald Bornt and his sister Bertha Thompson. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont S; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Rev. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
