Obituary of Ernest R Jones

Mr. Ernest R. Jones, 69, of Bleecker, died April 21, 2005. Born in Gloversville on October 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Richard and Harriet Root Jones. Mr. Jones was educated at the Worcester Academy in Worcester, MA, and was a graduate of Brown University. He was employed as an analytical chemist for Wyeth Labs in Philadelphia, PA for many years, retiring in 1974. He returned to this area in 1976 and resided in Bleecker. He was well known for his love of art and as a freelance sculpter. Survivors include his sisters, Linda Kopek of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Elaine Jones Royer of Scotia, Nancy de Forest of Castrium, Holland, and a brother, Nelson Jones of Ormond by the Sea, Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville.
