Obituary of Connie Conroe

Connie M. Conroe, 80, of Jockeyville Road in Gloversville died Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born October 18, 1924 in Unadilla, NY to the former Frances Barden and the late Irwin Conroe. She was educated in the Bethlehem Central Schools, graduated from Ithaca College and earned a Masters degree from the State University of New York at Albany. Ms. Conroe was an instrumental music teacher and taught in the Cherry Valley Schools, but spent most of her life teaching in the Bethlehem Central Schools. She retired in 1979 after 28 years of teaching, and moved to Bleecker. In addition to her mother, Ms. Conroe is survived by her brothers, Bruce Conroe and his wife Barbara of Ganesvoort, and Barden Conroe and his wife Jody of Skaneatelas. She is also survived by a special niece, Connie Conroe Beall of Skeaneatelas, and nieces and nephews Shelley Buff, Perry Conroe, Scott Conroe, David Conroe, Laurie Mousaw, and John Conroe, as well as 12 greatnieces and greatnephews. She is also survived by her dear caretaker, Debra Roice. She was predeceased by a special friend, John Kane. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
