Obituary of Rose V. Evans

Mrs. Rose Vermilyea Evans, age 91, passed away Saturday morning, May 14, 2005 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Richard Cast in Gloversville, NY. She was born October 20, 1913 in Gloversville, the daughter of Roy and Ruth Button Vermilyea. Rose enjoyed traveling all over the United States. She was devoted to her family as well as to her friends. She was employed by the former MCA Record Company in Gloversville for several years until her retirement. Rose was married to Arthur Kainz in 1929 who died in 1968. She later married Carl Evans in 1969 who died in 2000. She is survived by five children, Ruth Cast Richard of Gloversville, Richard Kainz Barbara of Safety Harbor, FL; Virginia Hoppenworth Hardy of Adams Center, NY; Marge Krawczyk Ed of Tampa, FL; and Robert Kainz of Gloversville; two sisters, Jane Stowitz and Eleanor Gifford of Gloversville; 17 grandchildren, Ellen Lathers, Richard Cast Jr; Suzanne Stewart, David Cast, Michael Kainz, Christine Levesque, Michelle Place, Kathy Simpson, Michael Krawczyk, Mark Krawczyk, Jennifer Krawczyk, Andy Kainz, Mandie Kainz, Shawn Evans, Andrea Muhlebeck, Angela Jones and Jill Suchy; 17 great grandchildren, three stepchildren, Alyn Evans Lenora and Larry Evans Raydene of Gloversville and Laurene Suchy Bill of Amsterdam; and several nieces and nephews. Her brother George Vermilyea predeceased her. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Sunday at Kobuskie - Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday.
