Obituary of Jennie Kensell
Jennie Kensell, 88, of Lincoln Avenue, passed away suddenly Tuesday at her home.
Born in Amsterdam on July 22, 1916, the daughter of Anthony and Barbora Damalaukas Trumpickas, she was educated locally and lived here her entire life.
She was employed as a secretary for the General Electric Company in Schenectady for twenty-four years, before she retired in 1977.
Jennie was an active communicant of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church, and was a member of the Living Rosary Society, the Ladies Auxiliary, and St. Casimir?s Seniors. She was also a member of the G.E. Women?s Association and the former American Lithuanian Club Auxiliary and Council 100 of the Knights Of Lithuania.
On Sept. 11, 1941 she was united in marriage to Willard J. Kensell. He predeceased her on Oct. 7, 1984.
She is survived by her son, Robert J. and his wife Barbara Kensell of Walnut Creek, Ca.; her daughter, Barbara J. Weyl of Wilton, Conn., her granddaughter, Kimberley and her husband Stephen Lubin of Brookline, Mass.; a brother, Edmund and his wife Florence Trumpick of Amsterdam and a niece Susan and nephew John Trumpick.
Jennie was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Dr. Thomas J. Weyl.
Services are Saturday at 9:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Casimir?s Church, Fr. Stanley J. Swierzowski, celebrant. Interment is in St. Casimir?s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
