Obituary of William Joseph Koehler
William Joseph Koehler, 58, of Putman St. Amsterdam, passed away Friday evening at his home.
Born in Amsterdam on November 16, 1946 a son of Joseph A. and Alice Voigt Koehler. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam.
Mr. Koehler worked for Boss Linco Lines and then at the Pattersonville and Mohawk Rest areas on the New York State Thruway for 10 years. Later he worked for Power Logistics in the Johnstown Industrial Park until ill health forced his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
Survivors include his mother Alice Koehler of Amsterdam, his long time companion Lois Beebe of Amsterdam and her children, one brother Paul F. Koehler and his wife Ellen of Malone, NY, and two sisters, Mary Alice Davis of Watervliet, NY and Kathleen A. and her husband Ralph Tambasco Jr. of Amsterdam.
Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 24th at 11:00A.M. at St. Mary?s Roman Catholic Church, Main Street in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday May 24th, 2005 prior to the Mass from 9:00A.M. to 10:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
