Obituary of Robert Wallach
Mr. Robert Wallach, age 69 of Gloversville, died Friday evening, May 27, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born April 23, 1936 in Gloversville, the son of Simon and Mollie Cristiano Wallach. He was a 1954 graduate of Gloversville High School. Following his discharge form the Air Force he opened the former Bob?s Seafood in Johnstown, which was later relocated to Gloversville. He became employed at Lee Dyeing Corp. of North Carolina, and his family took over the operation of the seafood store. Bob retired in 1989 as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lee Dye Corp; following over 30 years of service.
Mr. Wallach was a member of Johnstown Moose Lodge #1185, The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, and The Crown Victoria Association. He was a former member of the Gloversville Zoning Board and the United Way.
Bob was married August 6, 1987 to the former Drue Finkle Firth who survives. Four children also survive him, Debbie A. Murray Rod of Fort Myers, FL; Mark A. Wallach Linda of Gloversville and Brianna R. Wallach and Erin P. Wallach of Elizabethtown, PA; two stepchildren,
Michael Firth Theresa of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Kristen Firth of Ballston Lake; a brother, Richard Wallach of Johnstown; a sister, Mary Ann Gleason of Johnstown; nine grandchildren, Nina, Christopher and Jessica Murray, Bobbi Wallach, Mary Hasley, Rebecca Hadcock, and Alan, Kaylee and Adrianna Jones; four great grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother John Wallach preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205, or the charity of your choice.
