Obituary of Catherine N. Ambrosino
Mrs. Catherine N. Constantino Ambrosino who resided in Gloversville, beloved mother and wife, entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening, June 18, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was 88 years of age.
She was born April 9, 1917 in Amsterdam, NY, a daughter of the late Angelo and Louise DePasquale Constantino. Catherine attended Amsterdam schools, was later employed at the former Sanford Carpet Mill in Amsterdam, and also at the Naval Depot in Scotia.
On June 8, 1948 she was married to Albert R. Ambrosino. Following her marriage she was employed by the family owned Ambroson Glove Company in Gloversville. She retired in 1980 following the death of her dear husband on January 12 of that same year.
Mrs. Ambrosino was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church of Gloversville. With a total devotion to her loving family, Catherine enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family at the home she loved so dearly.
Survivors include four children, Richard A. Ambrosino Ellen of Madison, Mississippi, Doreen M. Kirby Stephen of Milford, PA; John A. Ambrosino Shannon of Concord, CA and Donald J. Ambrosino of Gloversville; a brother, Peter Constantino of Amsterdam; three sisters, Yolanda Petrosino of Amsterdam, Helen Rizzo of Wilmington, DE and Mafalda Marsicano of Amsterdam;
eight grandchildren, Kimberly Ambrosino Alexander, Daniel Ambrosino, Cherisse Kirby, Theresa Kirby, Sarah Ambrosino, Rebecca Ambrosino, Brandon Mendez and Trevor Mendez; a great granddaughter, Mary Ella Ambrosino; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her siblings John Constantino, Carmella Constantino and Josephine Constantino preceded Catherine in death.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a Prayer Service will be held 9:15 AM Wednesday, followed at 10:00 AM by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville, with the Rev. Paul Butler as celebrant. Interment will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc; Capitol District Chapter, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206-2083.
