Obituary of Beverly L. Horning

Mrs. Beverly L. Horning, 89, formerly of 2 Canal Street, Fort Plain, and Willing Helpers Home for Women in Johnstown, passed away Sunday at the Palatine Nursing Home after a long illness. Born on January 13, 1916 in Nelliston, NY, the daughter of Morris and Marjorie Churchill Colegrove, she was a life-long area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Horning first worked for Luxuray Mill of Fort Plain for 26 years until going to work for Beech-Nut for 13 years until her retirement in 1979. She married William C. Horning on November 29, 1934. He passed away on April 10, 1969. Survivors include one brother, Ronald Colegrove of Randall, NY; one sister, Geraldine Watkins of Fort Plain, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2PM at the Lenz & Betz funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with the Reverend Kenneth Dingman officiating. The burial will take place in the Fort Plain Cemetery, Fort Plain, NY. Calling hours will precede the funeral service from 12 noon until 2PM at the funeral home.
