Obituary of Blanche Coclanis Polezoes
Blanche C. Polezoes, 87, of Stewart Street, Amsterdam, and 100 Mercury Ave. So., Clearwater, Fla., 33765; passed away Friday morning at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.
Born in Chicago on Aug. 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Kate Costandakis Coclanis; she moved to Schenectady as a child and lived in Glens Falls for a number of years before moving to Amsterdam fifty years ago. A home maker, she was a member of St. George?s Greek Orthodox Church in Schenectady, and more recently of Holy Trinity G.O. Church in Florida and the Daughters of Penelope. For many years, she and her husband owned thoroughbred horses and raced them at Saratoga. She was a member of the New York Harness and Racing Assoc. For the past twenty years, Blanche and her husband made Clearwater their winter home.
She and her beloved husband, Dr. Chris Polezoes were married for fifty-three years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a cousin, Theos Gazetas of Albany and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Wednesday, August 10 at 11AM at St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Main Street, S. Glens Falls, Fr. Elias Nasr officiating. Relatives and friends are invited.
Interment will follow in Glens Falls Cemetery.
