Obituary of Christine O. Minasi

Christine O. Minasi, 84, of Milton Ave., Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam. Born in Siatimo, Naples, Italy on February 7, 1921 a daughter of Alfred and Carmela Errico Iavarone. She was a lifelong area resident and was a 1939 graduate of Gloversville High School. She was an owner-operator of the Neway Home Improvement Co. along with her husband for many years in Amsterdam and was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was very active in her family?s life. She was married to August Minasi on April 15, 1943 he passed away on May 27, 1993. Survivor?s include one daughter, Linda Cotton of Seattle, WA; one brother, James Iavarone and his wife Jean of Amsterdam; two grandchildren, Robin Cotton-Cobb of Houston, TX and Jamie Cotton of Denver, CO; and two great grandchildren, Christina Dawson and Daniel Cobb. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Iavarone. Funeral Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
