Obituary of Christian F. Auspelmyer

Christian F. Auspelmyer, Jr., 84, of Highland Rd. passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on April 29, 1921, the son of Christian F., Sr. and Ethel Firth Auspelmyer. He was a 1939 graduate of Wilbur H. High School. He was employed by Armour Meat Company in Glens Falls as a bookkeeper until he retired. Chris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Amsterdam at one time and was a member of the Pine Grove Cemetery Association. He loved sports, especially the Yankees. An animal lover, he enjoyed watching the birds in his backyard feeders that he lovingly tended. His wife, the former June Shaw, predeceased him in 1997. Chris is survived by his dear friend, Carol Tuchorski, of Amsterdam; a cousin, Harry Johnson, of Niskayuna and other friends. Services are Thursday afternoon at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Interment is in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill. A calling hour will precede the service at 12 noon. Contributions may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 25 Church Street, Amsterdam
