I know you're in a better place yeah
But I wish that I could see your face, oh
I know you're where you need to be
Even though it's not here with me
I miss you
I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
I love and miss you so much gramma!!!
Love always ,

Darla - I just read about your wonderful mother and am so sorry. I know how you must feel since I lost my mother too just last year. We always think they're going to be with us. One memory I have of your mother is that she had a way of making people feel comfortable with her. She was always smiling and positive. I remember coming to your house when we were kids for your birthday party - it must have been super because here I am, probably 50 years later, remembering what a good time I had! You, Randy and Brent and families are in my thoughts at this time.

Gert had the most amazing amount of energy that could possibly be packed in a 4'11" person. She grew the best gardens, no weed was safe. An addition to the house-no problem-cement blocks were no match for Gert. Snow on the roof-just give her a shovel.
Her heart was the biggest part of her. She could whip up a complete house out of cardboard including shutters for a bridal shower. A coffee can would become a Christmas stocking. She was ready to do anything at anytimg for anybody. Just don't have a better hand than her while playing cards, she could beat you at arm wrestling.
Although cooking wasn't her strong suite she loved to do it and would can the best bread and butter pickles and produce an abundant supply of zucchini bread to be shared by everyone. I don't recommennd her fried eggs however.
Supportive without judgment, she was the best example of what a mother-in-law should be. I will charish her she is in my heart.
