Obituary of Gertrude E. McSpirit

Mrs. Gertrude E. McSpirit, 71, of Mayfield died Friday at her residence. She was born June 14, 1934 in Gloversville, daughter of the late John and Margaret Ward. Mrs. McSpirit was eduated in Gloversville schools and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband Firman McSpirit of Mayfield; two daughters: Susan McSpirit and her fiance Jay Ippoliti of Mayfield and Mary And Edward Ladeau of Mayfield; two sons: Michael and Margaret McSpirit of Chambersburg, PA and William McSpirit and his partner Brian Sprague of Amsterdam; two sisters: Josephine Hine and her husband Lester of Gloversville and Joan Veron of Florida. Mrs. McSpirit is also survived by grandchildren: Jonathan Becker, Sara Becker, Michael McSpirit Joshua McSpirit, Emily Ladeau, Austin Ladeau Lawson Ippoliti, Amanda Ippoliti, Kristie Krug, Connie Krug, Debbie Krug, Peter and Patrick Krug; four great- grandchildren: Andrew, Hope, Ryan and David, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Timothy McSpirit, and two brothers: Pete and John Ward. There will be no calling hours. Cremation took place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. Urn burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.
