Obituary of Fayne M. Burke

Mrs. Fayne Mary Burke, 80, of Old State Rd., Johnstown, passed away Saturday morning in Johnstown following an accident. Born on August 18, 1926 in Ft. Plain, NY, the daughter of Clifford and Lola VanEtta Pickard, she was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Burke was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, going for walks, her animals, and reading her bible. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah?s Witnesses in Johnstown. She was predeceased by her husband Walter James Burke in 1984, and her son, Walter D. Burke. Survivors include a daughter, June Burke of South Carolina; a daughter in-law, Linda Burke of Gloversville; 4 grandchildren, Brendan Burke of South Portland, ME, Madeline Burke of San Antonio, TX, Amanda Miller of Gloversville, and Lisa Ackernel of North Carolina; 3 great grandchildren, Evan, Morgan, and Abigail; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one?s choice in her memory.
