Obituary of Richard A. Syzdek

Richard A. Syzdek, 71, of Great Barrington, MA, died Tuesday September 6th at the Timberland Heights Nursing Facility where he had been a resident for the past year. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 11, 1934 a son of Andrew and Mary Knapik Syzdek. He was a lifelong Amsterdam area resident. Mr. Syzdek was of the Roman Catholic Faith. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He married the former Betty Daniels who survives. Survivor?s also include- Two Sons- James A. Syzdek and his wife Pam of Gahanna, Ohio Kenneth A. Syzdek and his significant other Brenda of Scotia, NY One Daughter- Sandra L. Ruggiero of Glenville, NY One Brother- George Syzdek of Winterhaven, FL Grandchildren- Jason Ruggiero and his wife Leah, Jonathan Ruggiero, Jessica and Jennifer Syzdek. Nieces, Nephews and Cousins also survive. Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Red Cross, 33 Everett Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.
