Obituary of Emily C. Johnson

Emily C. Johnson, 91, passed away Thursday morning at the Well?s House in Johnstown.Born April 30, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Emil and Margaret Wright Hofmann.Mrs. Johnson attended schools New York City and Yonkers. She moved to Amsterdam in 1956.Mrs. Johnson owned and operated the Credit Bureau of Amsterdam, Credit Reporting Department for a number of years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Yonkers Chapter and belonged to the Credit Women?s Association. Mrs. Johnson was also attended the Amsterdam United Presbyterian Church.Mrs. Johnson was united in marriage to G. Walter Johnson on November 27, 1937. He passed away on February 21, 1985.Survivors include her daughter: Carol L. Santon; one grandson: Douglass L. Santon and his wife Dawn; one great grandson: Colin J. Santon; and several nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be held Monday evening at 7p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The Rev. Alice Monschke will be officiating. A calling hour will precede the memorial service from 6 until 7.
