Obituary of Arthur F. Bintz

Arthur F. Bintz, 70, of Lewis Road, Ballston Spa, died Friday, September 9, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital. Mr. Bintz was born in the Town of Perth on December 18, 1934 and was the son of the late Cyril G. and Mildred Deal Bintz. Art was a graduate of St. Mary?s Institute, Amsterdam, in the Class of 1952. He served in the US Army from 1957-1959 as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a retired member of the Galway Volunteer Fire Dept. and once served as treasurer. Art worked for many years at the Pepsi-Cola Co., Schenectady. He later worked for Mohawk Beverage Company of Schenectady from which he retired in January, 2000. During his youth, Art was a co-owner of El Swampo Ranch and a member of the Silver Dollar Stables. He also competed in Gymkhana Events. Art loved all kind of sports, and enjoyed watching them on TV especially his favorite teams, golf, tennis and NASCAR. He bowled in several area leagues for many years and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the New York Telephone Golf League and was active until shortly before his death. He also loved to travel, enjoyed playing Bingo, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his devoted companion of 23 years Annette ?Toni? Lais and their beloved poodle, Darby, of Ballston Spa; his loving son, David A. Bintz and his companion, Barbara Burt of Albany; his loving daughter, Dr. Joanne C. Bintz of Silver Spring, Maryland. He is also survived by three brothers, Cyril G. ?Cy? Bintz, Jr. and wife Sharon of Amsterdam; Robert C. Bintz and wife Sally of Amsterdam; John H. Bintz of Schenectady; his two sisters; Corinne M. Kowalski and husband Robert of Amsterdam; Patricia L. Holt and husband Don of Amsterdam; also surviving are Toni?s mother, Ida Corelli of Amsterdam; a brother, Mark Corelli and his wife Tanah and their three children of Latham, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Monday at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam and at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arthur?s name to Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
