Obituary of Manuel Irizarry
Manuel ?Manny? Irizarry, 24, of Guy Park Avenue, passed away Wednesday, September 21 as the result of an automobile accident.
Born in Manhattan, NY on August 8, 1981, he was a 1999 graduate of Amsterdam High School. He was employed by Champs Sporting Goods in Amsterdam and also was a horseback riding instructor for autistic children at Sugarloaf for a time. He moved to Florida where he worked as a bouncer for several clubs in the Jacksonville area. He returned to Amsterdam this past year. He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
His mother, Ramonita Irizarry predeceased him.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Nellie Irizarry of Texas; a loving aunt and uncle who were like his own parents, Michael and Carmen Irizarry of Amsterdam; paternal grandmother, Angela Irizarry of Manhattan; aunts, Millie Rivera of Florida, and Anna Ramos of Puerto Rico; and a cousin, Angela Irizarry of Richmond, VA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Saturday, October 8th at St. Michael the Archangel Church with Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. A calling period will precede the Mass from 9 am to 10:30 that morning at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
