Obituary of Regina A. Peeler

Regina Anna Peeler, 82, of Broadway, passed safely into the arms of her Savior on Thursday at St. Mary?s Hospital. Born in Esperance, NY on July 26, 1923, the daughter of Garfield, Sr. and Margaret Vosburgh Hazzard, she lived in the Mohawk Valley her entire life. She was employed earlier for Templeton Gloves, and later for White Mop Wringer as a press operator before she retired. Regina loved to dance, being with her family whether she was at a clambake or any event, she just ?plain enjoyed life?. She was proud of her large family, especially the grandchildren which now extends to the fifth generation. One of her greatest joys was one year ago in September when she was baptized a Christian at the Cranberry Creek Community Church. For forty years, she was St. Cecilia?s biggest bingo fan, often being the first one there and even opening the hall for the players. Her first husband was the late Robert Johnson. On July 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Peeler. In addition to her beloved husband, her loving family includes her children, sons: Robert ?Jake? Cheryl Peeler of Fultonville, Robert Donna Johnson of Ft. Pierce Fla., Donald Kathy Peeler of Gloversville, Ronald Peeler of Alabama and William Tina Peeler of Fonda; daughters: Barbara Telfer of Fonda, Anna Robert Bedell of Tribes Hill, Kathy Lawrence Andrews of Syracuse and Dawn Hofmann of Glenville; brother, Everett Hazzard of Flat Creek; sisters: Ella Mae Colby of Fultonville and Marguerite Lohmeyer of Amsterdam; thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, six great -great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. Regina was predeceased by a daughter, Eileen Hastings, as well as siblings: Malvina Bassett, Gladys Morey, Virgil Hazzard, Nettie Guyette, Bernard Hazzard, Nancy Eaker, Garfield Hazzard Jr., Laura Hazzard and Ward Hazzard. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Daniel Bedell, and a granddaughter, Carol Myers. Services are Monday morning at 11:00 am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street Fultonville with the Rev. Wade Prime officiating assisted by Regina?s son William Peeler. Interment will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home. The Glen-Mohawk Senior Citizens will meet at 3:30 pm on Sunday. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Lung Assoc. in care of the funeral home.
