Obituary of Carmella Marie Francis

Mrs. Carmella Marie Francis, 87, of Wall St., Amsterdam passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on November 21, 1917 in Erie, PA she was the daughter of Aquiolino and Joann Phillips Orlando. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Erie, PA class of 1935. Mrs. Francis was employed for many years by Blair?s Stores until going to work for First National Stores both in Massachusetts until her retirement. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Survivors include her husband, Joseph B. Francis, Jr. whom she married on February 14, 1979; a stepson, Dennis Francis and his wife Diane of Tewksbury, Mass; a stepdaughter, Lorraine Duchessi and her husband Anthony ?Duke? of Amsterdam; step grandchildren, Phillip Rossignol, Denise Rossignol-West, Catherine and Phyllis Francis, one great step granddaughter, Michelle West; and several nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
