Obituary of Margaret M. Markulis

Margaret M. Markulis, 82, of Polin Road, Fultonville passed away early Tueday morning at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on July 21, 1923 in Amsterdam she was the daughter of Edward and Irene Gaugler. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband: Joseph W. Markulis whom she married on January 23, 1944; two daughters, Nancy and her husband Herman Marotta of Fultonville; and Judy Brown of Seattle; five grandsons Mark Zajac, David Zajac and his wife Aubrey, Eli Brown, Matthew Marotta and his wife Kristine, Daniel Marotta and one great grand daughter: Marion Rose Marotta. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass that will take place on Friday, September 30 at 10a.m. at St. Cecilia?s R.C. Church in Fonda. Internment will take place in St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Fort Johnson. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Margaret?s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 or to the American Heart Association PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville.
