Obituary of Clara Jeanette Smith

Clara Jeanette Smith, 87, formerly of Lincoln St., Ft. Plain passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2005 at St. Johnsville Nursing where she had been a resident. Born on October 9, 1917 in Ft. Plain, NY the daughter of Delevan and Jane Trumbull Smith, Clara was a lifelong Ft. Plain resident and graduated from Ft. Plain High School in 1934. She went on to attended the college of Katherine Gibbs School for Women in New York City. Clara was employed by the General Electric Company in Schenectady for 25 years until her retirement in 1983. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the United Methodist Church of Ft. Plain. Survivors include 2 cousins, Cheryl Deitch of Fonda and Scott Mosher and his wife Deborah of Ft. Plain. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie. The burial will take place in the Ft. Plain Cemetery. A calling hour will take place on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
