Obituary of Linda Kinard
Mrs. Linda Kinard, 51, of Mayfield, died Thursday, October 6 at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was born February 9, 1951 in Rathbone, NY and moved to Gloversville as a child. She was educated in the Gloversville schools and employed as a machine operator for Hawkins Fabrics.
Although somewhat confined due to illness, Linda enjoyed a variety of activities including painting, crossword puzzles, yahtzee, monopoly, and watching movies, which she taped regularly.
Survivors include her husband, James Kinard Sr., of Mayfield, her son Charles Hunold of Gloversville, two sisters: Susan Eagan of Roanoke, VA and Myrtle Thomas of Johnstown, and five brothers: Paul Van Horne of Johnstown, David Van Horne of Gloversville, Hiram Van Horne of Wayland, NY, Clifford Van Horne of Gloversville, and Ronnie Van Horne of Canisteo, NY.
She is also survived by her mother, Myrtle Atwood Van Horne of Johnstown, a grandson Chucky Hunold, a step-granddaughter Courtney Chatterton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Nathaniel Biscay Van Horne, a brother Nathan Van Horne, three half-brothers and a half-sister.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the new section of Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
