Obituary of Frances P. Fagan

Mrs. Frances P. Gates Fagan, age 85, of Summit View Rd., Gloversville, died Tuesday evening, October 11, 2005 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born January 5, 1920 in the town of Broadalbin, the daughter of Charles and Harriet Wilcox Gates. She was employed at the Fownes Brothers Glove Company and at Grandoe Corp; Gloversville. Frances enjoyed camping and traveling, and loved to spend time with her family. She was a member of Foothills United Methodist Church and the Bannertown Senior Citizens Club. On May 9, 1940 she was married to Raymond A. Fagan Sr. He died May 7, 2004. Survivors include four children, Raymond Fagan Jr. and his wife Janet of Gloversville, Barbara Henry and Judith Gaige of Johnstown, and Sharon Ambrosino and her husband Ronald of Gloversville; a sister, Emma Caputo of Gloversville; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Cora Schotts and Norma Edwards, and her brother Leonard Slover. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday with the Rev. Wayne E. Jones Sr. officiating. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
