Obituary of Bertha Brigandet

Bertha ?Peg? Brigandet, 101, passed away peacefully at her home on Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam on Friday, October 21, 2005. Born in Triburg, Baden, Germany on July 18, 1904 she was a daughter of Engelbert and Orphazenia Scherzinger. She attended school in Germany. She was a Governess when she came to America at the age of 18 she then worked in New York City for a time as an off Broadway Entertainer. She moved to this area in the 1930?s and lived in Tribes Hill, New York for a time. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. She married Adolf J. Brigandet, he died in 1969. Survivors include two sons, John Sayles of Indiana and Lucien ?Kenneth? Sayles Jr. of Amsterdam; five grandchildren, Steven, Valerie, Michelle, Lori and Vicki; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam New York.
