Obituary of June Peters Wiley

June Peters Wiley, age 87, of 2 Michael Circle, Johnstown NY, passed away Wednesday at her residence. Mrs. Wiley was born in Gloversville August 6, 1918, daughter of the late Frank D. and Bertha Ernst Peters. Mrs. Wiley was a graduate of Gloversville High School, Lasell Jr. College and Lesley College in Cambridge MA. Early in her life she was employed at the Mc Nab Child Care Center in Gloversville, before moving to Great Neck, L.I. in 1948. June was a devoted family person and enjoyed being a home maker most of her life. Active in her community, she was a member and past manager of the Women?s Club of Great Neck. She was of the Methodist faith. June returned to Johnstown in 1985. June was married September 23, 1948 to J. Warren Wiley who died in 1978. She is survived by her son Josiah W. Wiley and his wife Christa of Princeton, NJ; a sister-in-law, Laura Peters of Gloversville and two nephews, David Peters of Alpharetta, Georgia and Andrew Peters of Goshen, Indiana. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Doris Petraske, and a brother, Donald F. Peters. The family will receive friends Saturday 12 noon to 2 pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm with Reverend R.W. Williams officiating. Burial will be Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue Gloversville, N.Y. 12078.
