To the family of Martha Kunkel, we are very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Before my mother-in-law passed away, she spoke of Martha all the time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy at the passing of a remarkable lady. I recall her from my days at Gloversville High School and from my father's comments. Fred, I am sure your Mom lived a wonderful life.

To the family of Martha Kunkel: Martha Kunkel was the leader of my Girl Scout Troop in Gloversville throughout my senior high school years. She was a friend, mentor and role model extraordinaire.I have many fond memories of sleep-overs at the Kunkel home in Gloversville, camping trips, visits to the Kunkel family camp where we caulked her old wooden rowboat and foraging in the winter woods for greenery to make our own Christmas wreaths. Martha trained me for two Girl Scout Round-Ups--Button Bay, Vt as a camper and Pend Oreile, Idaho as a leader. Martha taught all of us that we should have the courage to fight for visibility in the world and our rights as young girls and women. I learned her lessons well and cherished her teaching throughout my life. She deserves all the credit for everything I have achieved during my lifetime. She had a remarkable influence on many generations of young women growing up in the Mohawk Valley area. I am certain that she is remembered fondly by everyone. Thanks to the entire Kunkel family for sharing so much of "Mrs. K's" energy and enthusiasm with legions of campers. Our lives are infinitely better for having come under her tutelage. We will meet again when we go to that great wilderness canoe trip in the sky. God Bless you, 'Mrs. K." You will be in my heart forever.

We remeber Martha as the force behind Camp Kowaunkami. Richard was the electrician who also erected tents. Susan was camp director for two years. Martha cared about her community and went out of her way to further the Girl Scout movement. We will remember her kindness and spirit.

To the family of Martha Kunkel, we send our deepest condolences. We knew her and the good dr. for years, and myJan's husband,George, was his patient from the time he was a boy through 1987, minus years living elsewhere than Gloversville. Martha was the dr's. right-hand soul mate, and was always there.
We will miss Martha, as we have missed the dr., but look to meet them, again, someday, in heaven. God bless all of you and comfort you. -
