Obituary of Lela M. Van Buren

Mrs. Lela M. Van Allen Van Buren, age 98 of Gloversville, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, Gloversville. She was born February 2, 1907 in West Bush, the daughter of the late Barney and Harriett Johnson Van Allen. She attended schools in West Bush and Gloversville. Lela was a glove maker at Gates Mills Corp; Johnstown. She was married in 1924 to William Van Buren who died in 1960. Survivors include her daughter, Lucy M. Loux of Gloversville, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, William Van Buren Jr; and three brothers, Fred Van Allen, George Van Allen and Clarence Van Allen. It was Lela?s request that there be no calling hours or services. Private interment took place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
