Obituary of Jean E. Beatty

Mrs. Jean E. Beatty, 86, formerly of Ridge Road, Broadalbin, N.Y., resident of the Fulton County Infirmary for three years, died Friday morning at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. Born July 15, 1919 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Lillian Bloss Sheldon. She was a life long area resident and in 1936 graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High school. Jean moved to Broadalbin, N.Y. in 1955 and lived there until three years ago. She was a home maker. She was a member of the North Bush United Methodist Church in Johnstown and the churches Women?s Society. Jean loved spending time with her family, she enjoyed going for a car ride with her daughter, loved to bird watch and was an avid T.V. watcher. On August 30, 1940, she married Rev. Joseph A. Beatty, who died August 21, 1998. Survivor?s include her loving family; two sons, David A. Beatty of Scotia and Gary R. Beatty of the state of Florida; a daughter Diane Ferguson of Broadalbin; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard officiating. Burial will take place in the Hagaman Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
