I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Who doesn't remember going to your dad's store? There are a lot of memories there. Living out in North Broadalbin, it was the closest one around! In recent years my husband had the pleasure of moving your dad. It was nice to talk to someone you knew when you were a kid. May God bless you.

Dear John and Family,
I just wanted to let you know that my husband Scott and I bought your parents house on County Route 142 from your father back in 1992 shortly after we were married. It was our first house and your father was more than generous. He left behind a snowblower which we still have and a washer and dryer which we had up until two years ago. As a young couple starting out we appreciated those things more than you could know. Your father was a pleasure to deal with. We moved to a larger home in Johnstown after our third child was born because we needed more space, but we kept in touch with your father through a Christmas card each year and once in a while I would run into him on the streets of Johnstown. His was always the "first card of Christmas" and it arrived the day after Thanksgiving...without fail, until this year. I knew something was wrong and I said so to my husband because we hadn't received our card. I kept thinking of him and wondering about his health until the obituary appeared in the paper. I'm glad he was with his family and now has found peace. If by some chance the Christmas card I sent this year found its way to Buffalo...we are the McCoy Family and those are the three children that started life in your family home in Johnstown. Our daughter Kelsey was born with special needs and your father always remembered to ask after her when I saw him. I'd like to think that now she has another special angel looking after her in heaven. I just wanted you all to know that Al had touched our lives in a special way and we will remember him always. With our Sympathy...Lisa, Scott, Kelsey, Kieran and Kendra McCoy.
