Obituary of Marlene M. Petty
Marlene M. Petty, 63, former resident of Shellstone Road, Town of Florida, passed away Wednesday evening at her home at Kings Road in Myrtle Beach after a long illness.
Born in Rochester, New York on May 20, 1942, she was the daughter of Alfred Schiavone and the late Julia Tiberio Schiavone.
Marlene was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport, and later St. Mary?s Hospital and the Mount Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam.
Marlene was a communicant of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
On October 14, 1967, she married W. Michael Petty.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Julie Andrew Principe of Mendon, New York, Michelle Paul Siena of Fairport, New York, Nicole Dana Hartwell of Scituate, Massachusetts and Amanda Petty of New York City; her father, Alfred Schiavone and his wife Jean, of Holly, New York; a brother, Wayne Schiavone of Holly, New York; two sisters, Eloise Ennis of North Carolina and Brenda Schiavone of Texas; four grandsons, Zachary, Dominick, Michael and Charles; her mother-in-law, Helen Petty, of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10:00am at St. Casimir?s Church, 260 East Main Street, Amsterdam with Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti, celebrant. Interment is in St. Casimir?s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 3-5 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York.
