Obituary of Virginia Robbins
Mrs. Virginia Robbins 81 of Gloversville, died Mondy at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility.
She was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on February 7, 1924, daughter of the late John ?Jack? and Florence Crowter Bilger. She was educated in Gloversville schools and a 1943 graduate of Gloversville High School. Early in life she had been employed by Montgomery Wards, Geraldine Novelty Co. and Winig Slipper Co. For many years she was a representative for Stanley Home Products, retiring in 1989. Virginia loved the outdoors, camping and taveling.
She was an avid antique collector and for many years she did home seamstress work. Her enjoyment continued with knitting and crocheting. Her memberships included TOPS, Eastern Star and Pleasant Square Vol. Fire Dept. Aux.
She is survived by her husband Donald R. Robbins of Gloversville whom she married August 26, 1944. Two sons; Gary L. Robbins and his wife Julie of Gloversville and Richard W. Robbins and his wife Pat of Johnstown. She is also survived by a brother Wayne Bilger and his wife Joan of Gloversville, grandchildren: Christopher M. Robbins, Nicholas J. Robbins, Sherry Beth Robbins and Susan Cooper, her great grandchildren; Jordan Hurd and Cameron West.
There will be no calling hours. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. A graveside service for urn burial will be held in the spring and will be announced.
