Obituary of Della S. Kelly
Della S. Kelly, 92, formerly of Perth, New York passed away Monday morning February 6, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, New York. She was also a resident for the last 10 years at the Willing Helpers Home in Johnstown, New York.
Born in Amsterdam, New York on November 4, 1913 a daughter of Michael and Sophie Unchur Slavis. She was a lifelong Amsterdam area resident and attended local schools. Mrs. Kelly was employed as a machine operator for the former Mohawk Sportswear Company in Amsterdam retiring in 1978.
She was a communicant of St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Her first husband, Joseph Mack, passed away in 1946. She then was married to Darwin Kelly in 1956; he passed away on September 23, 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph M. Mack and his wife Kitty of Perth, New York, Richard Kelly and his wife Piret of Ballston Lake, New York and Robert Kelly of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Karol Kelly of Utica, New York; one sister, Alice Jaracz of Amsterdam, New York; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew and cousins also survive.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 11:00AM at St. Casimir?s Roman Catholic Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam with Father Stanley Swierzowski as celebrant. Calling hours are private. Interment will be in St. John?s Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners? Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
