Obituary of Richard F. Young

Mr. Richard F. Young, 47, of St Hwy 309 died suddenly on Tuesday April 25, 2006. He was born February 8, 1959 in Gloversville, the son of Frank and Marlene Woodcock Young. He was educated in Gloversville schools and employed as a mechanic in the family business, Frank Young Used Cars. Rick was devoted to helping his parents, especially since his father?s illness. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, mostly at Black Lake. He was also a stock car enthusiast, and often worked on the cars. He was also a member of the Bleecker Fish and Game Club. In addition to his parents of Bleecker, he is survived by a daughter; Joanna Christman and her husband John of Cabot, Vermont, two sons; Richard Young and his companion Jen of N. Carolina, and James Young and his companion Magon of Sheffield, Vermont. He is also survived by two sisters; Cindy Spraker and her husband Ed of Bleecker and Terry Jones and her husband Fred of Nelliston, one brother; Mark A. Young and his wife Brenda of Bleecker. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; Lyndsay, James Jr. and Brittney. Surviving nieces and nephews are; Mark Young Jr., Edward Spraker II, Alisha Young, Amber Jones and Jolene Young. He dearly loved his dog ?Lucky?. Richard was pre-deceased by a brother Frank Young Jr. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Friday from the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 am to 12 noon prior to the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
