Obituary of Joan F. Playford

Mrs. Joan F. Playford, 74, formerly of Harvard Place, Amsterdam passed away early Thursday morning at Montgomery Meadows. Born on March 9, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Fred and Rose Swartz Krokenberger. Mrs. Playford was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children. She loved flowers and gardening. She was a member of St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her loving family includes her husband Arthur D. Playford whom she married on July 19, 1952, two daughters, Debra Frame and her husband Donald, Jr. of Clifton Park, and Donna Mochrie and her husband Steve of Amsterdam; one son Arthur Playford, Jr. and his wife Rosalie of Cranesville; five grandchildren, David and Donald Frame III, Darryl and Brooke Playford and Therese Intelisano. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. John Califano presiding. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A calling period will precede the funeral from 10 until 11.
