Obituary of Eileen Rose Lasher
Mrs. Eileen Rose Lasher, 71, of E. Windsor, Connecticut, died Sunday in Hartford, Connecticut.
She was born September 24, 1934 in Amsterdam, New York, daughter of the late George and Rose Gifford Welke.
Mrs. Lasher was a 1952 graduate of Broadalbin High School. She began her career as an installation coordinator for AT & T where she was employed for 25 years. She later worked as a switchboard operator for Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Co., retiring in 2004.
Eileen was a well-known volunteer. She involved herself in many community programs for charity including crafts and home made articles for needy and homeless people.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Lasher of E. Windsor, Connecticut, whom she married June 4, 1955; her children, Kandy Seely of Wallingford, Connecticut and Terry St. Martin of E. Windsor, Connecticut.
She is also survived by two sisters, Judy Hunter and Rose Bornt both of Broadalbin, New York and a brother, George Welke of Broadalbin, New York.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lasher was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Steele and a brother, Richard Welke.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 :00 p.m. Friday at the Broadalbin Baptist Church, 40 W. Main Street, Broadalbin, New York with Pastor Doug Blanc officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon to 1 :00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Burial will be in Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin, New York.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main Street, Broadalbin, New York.
