Obituary of Stanley Ronald Bennett

Mr. Stanley Ronald Bennett, age 76, of Mayfield, died Saturday morning, May 27, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born May 17, 1930 in Gloversville, the son of the late Stanley and Helen Anderson Bennett. A graduate of Mayfield Central School, he was a retired member of the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department. A sports enthusiast, Ron was an avid bowler and golfer. He scored a hole in one at Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course and also at Sacandaga Golf Course. He also enjoyed reading. Mr. Bennett was involved in banking for over 42 years at the same location, 2 North Main Street in Gloversville, for the Fulton County National Bank and Trust Company, Irving Bank of New York, and NBT Bank. He retired as vice president of Installment Loans. Survivors include his wife, Sally M. Van Buren Bennett; a daughter, Barbara Sartin Frederick ?Skip?; two granddaughters, Nicole Cotugno Aaron and Stacy Klingbeil Donald; four great-grandchildren, Carson and Spencer Cotugno and Andrew and Madison Klingbeil. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held at 6:45 pm Tuesday.
