Janice,
I am very sorry to learn this tragic news. I am sending you a huge "Berg" hug. I will always remember Chris's smile and updates when I'd make my summer visit to Sacandaga and stop by. My Dad and Debbie have always liked Chris as a kind and caring neighbor. I will let them know when they return from Ireland. I can't imagine how you must feel Naj. Sacandaga will fell doubly empty without you and Chris. I'll be there the week of July 17th along with my sisters. I'd love to hear from you. My deepest condolences to you and to Chris' family and friends.
love,
John Nhoj jsnolan@optonline.net

To gain some appreciation of just how many folks were admirers of Chris in life and are anguished by his loss, you may wish to look at commentaries on WWW.BBWC. com
They are quite remarkable to behold.

My most sincere condolences on your loss. "C.A." was a major influence on a lot of people he corresponded with on the BBWC internet site. I had the fortune to talk via phone with Chris a few times and was due to call him again when he passed.I greatly regret not placing that call.
Chris had a lot of influence on those of us who frequent the BBWC internet site and was the guy to go to for giants trivia.
He will be greatly missed.

I did not know Chris personally, but felt I would know him if our paths ever crossed. He was the most knowledgeable individual about the New York Giants and football in general I have ever had the pleasure of conversing with thru the Giants web site. His comments were always wonderful to read and again he left me spellbound by his knowledge. May he rest in peace. God Bless you and I hope you are doing as well as can be expected.
Sincerely, Duke

My deepest condolences to Janice and all of Chris' family and friends.
I was part of Chris' BBWC.com family and his knowledgeable presence there will be sorely missed. Though I never met him personally, I felt a strong common bond of friendship through the exchange of old Giants footage and an occasional Christmas card.
May our Father in heaven send his Holy Spirit down to bring Chris' loved ones comfort in this most difficult time.

Where do you begin when a part of your past just goes away. I am saddened to think that just because we grew up, got married, and went our separate ways that we drifted apart and lost touch. Chris was a part of growing up. We were best buddies always. All the other "guys" on the block were too old for us...so we had each other. We went to school together, we got to stay out passed the streetlights in the summer time, we sat on the picnic table and looked up at the stars for hours. Lets not forget stealing the cherries off his grandmothers cherry trees, and the teasing we always got from John B. and Pete over the bushes. You guys had Chris and I dating at what...age 6! Remember the time that Chris lost his coat at school and ended up wearing a little girls fur collared coat....How mad he was at the time, but as the years passed I knew I could always get a big smile and one of his belly laughs. The Beach Boys, Barry Manilow, long talks about crushes and heartaches on the front porch. I thank god that I have all these happy memories to remember Chris with. I am just sorry that we didn't get together after he moved back home. I knew Chris well enough to know that when the time was right we would get together. My heart breaks to think we wont get that chance. To Chris' mom, dad, and John, I am sorry for your loss and I am sorry for the big loss that has been made in all of our lives. I am sorry for all thoughs who were not lucky enough to be blessed by knowing Chris and sharing in some part of his life.
To my buddy, my pal, my friend. I will always love you and always hold our memories in my heart. I will not say good bye, just save me a spot on the picnic table and everytime I look up at the stars I will think of you and remember.
Love, Dar

I am one of the moderators on the BBWC. I have never met Chris, but I had verbal contact with him for many, many years. To say how sorry we all are for your loss, would just be putting it too mildly. Chris was one of THE major reasons why our site was as good as it was. It will never be the same with his passing. Please accept our deepest condolences. You have lost a cherished part of your life and family. We all have lost a dear friend. If there is ANYTHING we can do for you at this time, any time, please, do not hesitiate to contact any of us. It would be our honor to help.
May God have mercy on his soul.

My condolences go out to Nicole,
I think it takes a lot of courage to express yourself that way that you have. I commend you for that! As for the family that Chris has left. There will never be a more appropriate time than the present to right his wrong and acknowledge his daughters existence!! Nicole is a very real part of Chris's life and should be acknowledged as such. There is nothing more precious in life that our children and grandchildren. Please accept my sincerest sympathy - not only for the loss of your son, brother or ex-husband but because you are choosing to ignore Chris greatest success in life -- Nicole. It is truly a shame that you may never know her. May God help you find peace with that.

Chris,
Just 8 days ago, we sat together, face to face once again. Cajoling, laughing, and even partaking in some consoling. 5 splendid hours. ?1 on 1?, just like in our childhood days. We even worked in a visit to our old haunt, Sam Fariello?s for a long chat.
You were my neighbor, a friend beyond friends, loyal playmate and of course, my reliable teammate. How many days did we spend together playing ARMY, hide-and-go-seek, touch football and wiffle ball in my backyard? We shared countless hours dissecting the Yankees line up and the credentials of every player. And of course, there were the many headstrong debates where we were trying to determine who was the better NFL quarterback: your Johnny U. or my Broadway Joe.
I admired your resilience, persistence and good nature. You were always filled with humor, theatrics and sports facts beyond my comprehension. Your many passions, whether history, music or sports, spoke volumes to me. You are a textbook Leo.
I have come to appreciate that God works in mysterious ways. Perhaps he summoned you to report on heaven?s annual NY Giants ?Old Timer?s Day? game? Or has teamed you up with the Arthur Ashe in a game of doubles?
Maybe it is better for you and me to have parted the way we did- where it all began, somewhere in between 43 and 39 Arnold Avenue, with a hug, a long handshake and an ?I?ll see you in a few weeks?.
Someday our paths will cross again. Until then, I bid you farewell and only wish I could send you a Hail Mary pass to end this game on a victorious note!
Peace be yours my friend,
John

To Janice and all of Christopher's Family,
Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your loved one, as he was one of our beloved as well.
As founder of the BBWC.com, I speak for all of us when I say this is a profound loss, and that Chris will be deeply missed by all.
He was one of our founding members, an avid football historian, and a remarkable friend who wrote with passion and brilliance.
Although many of us never met personally, he was a tremendous friend to us, and we all came to be friends, loved and respected each other through our thoughts and printed words.
Peace to you and your family, as we take comfort in knowing that he is in a wonderful place, and that we will meet again one day.
Respectfully,

I was extremely saddened to learn the news that Chris has passed. I didn't know him personally but I have enjoyed his posts on the BBWC website for years, in fact, he had just responded to one of my posts last week. His participation on our website will truly be missed, especially his summaries of summer training camp. His knowledge about NY Giants football was second to none. For his family and friends that knew him personally - may he truly rest in peace and I hope that will enjoy the next life in that big stadium up in the sky.
I was proud to know him, even if it was only thru our common interest in the NY Giants. The NY Giants lost a good man, he bled BLUE.

Blessed art thou lord our God,
King of the universe.
Who's wisdom is beyond our understanding.
I sit here mourning the death of yet another young man;
An extraordinary man who brought value into all our lives;
I reach deep into my most inner regions to seek understanding.
As it has been in the past and as it will be in the future,
the search for understanding the timing of death simply is not comprehensible.
So I am left with my faith.
The faith that tells me that he is needed elsewhere.
The faith that tells me that he had done so well here that in many profound ways, his positive influence will be with each of us for the rest of our lives.
The faith that tells me that he set an example that will be passed on to generations not yet born.
I am struck by the words Rest in Peace.
Indeed, my dear beloved God, ensure that Chris rests in peace.
I pray that his family, friends and all those that were fortunate to know him will have peace of mind.
That they will know that he his in a better place.
That they will know that he is blessed with an extraordinary soul, that will have a very special place in the hereafter.
I can visualize Chris meeting loved ones that passed before him.
Meeting ancestors that he never knew.
Meeting many football players that he knew so well but never met.
Going to wonderful games that are played at a level of perfection in a perfectly designed stadium.
Being able to see every play from multiple angles simultaneously.
My deep seated faith tells me that his soul will continue to grow in ways that simply are not possible when encumbered by the body.
I pray that Chris' family and friends are comforted by the thought that they will be reunited with Chris and
That Chris may be gone in body but not in spirit.
A spirit that will never die
A spirit that will grow and grow
A spitit that will enrich all of our lives.
To all of this, I say AMEN.
