Obituary of Stephen Francis West

Stephen Francis West, age 66, of Mayfield, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Albany Medical Center, Albany. He was born February 18, 1951 in Gloversville, the son of Francis and Lois Stewart West. He was employed as a corrections officer at Green Haven, Coxsackie and finally Hale Creek of Johnstown for 24 years until his recent retirement. Steve was a member of Pine Tree Rifle Club and Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman and enjoyed meeting his friends for stories at the coffee shop in Mayfield. He is survived by three children, Betsy Ellithorpe Lake, Kurt West and Kasey West; a grandson, Cameron West and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents. A Memorial Service will take place Sunday, February 25 at 4:00pm at the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St; Mayfield, with the Rev. Linda Martin officiating.
