Obituary of Dorothea V. Robinson

Dorothea V. Robinson, 93, formerly of Harvard Avenue, died Tuesday evening at Montgomery Meadows. Born on August 18, 1912, she was the daughter of the late George and May Van Voast Robinson. She was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School. Mrs. Robinson was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amsterdam. Music played a large important role in Mrs. Robinson?s life. She was an organist for over 76 years. She taught music lessons from her home, and was a music teacher at Morrison & Putmans. Mrs. Robinson was predeceased by her husband Ernest A. Robinson in September of 1981; she was also predeceased by her brother Clyde. Her loving family includes her two sons, Lowell Marion Robinson of Norfolk, Massachusetts and Keith Robinson of Alexandria, Virginia; three grandchildren, Janice Lee LaFrance, Elaine Luke Grant, and Craig Jenn Robinson; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Thomas Mithen presiding. Burial will take place in the Hagaman cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 10 until 11. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 479 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
