Obituary of David A. Bornt

Mr. David A. Bornt, 54, of Galway, died suddenly June 27, 2006. He was born January 9, 1952 in Gloversville, son of Jane Ostrander Bornt and the late Arthur Bornt, Jr. Mr. Bornt was a 1970 graduate of Mayfield High School and employed as a millwright at the W. Milton site for General Dynamics. He was a member of the Carpenter?s Union Local # 370, and a former member of the Norsemen Street Rod Association. David loved to hunt and fish, especially with his family on their numerous trips to Cherry Valley. He also enjoyed many area auctions with family and friends. David is survived by his wife, Susan De Groff Bornt of Galway whom he married July 14, 2001; his mother, of Gloversville; four sons: Jeremy Christine Bornt of Johnstown, Ryan Emily Bornt of Mayfield, Christopher Amy Francis of Ballston Spa, and Eric Francis of Scotia. He is also survived by three brothers, Terry Carol Bornt of Mayfield, Kevin Denise Bornt and Joel Christine Bornt both of Gloversville. Additionally he is survived by two sisters, Jana Lewis Smith of Broadalbin and Patti Paul Moran of Gloversville; one grandson, Jaiden Shults of Scotia; ten nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. His father, Arthur Bornt Jr., pre-deceased him in 2005. Funeral services will be conducted 4 pm Saturday from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-4 pm prior to the service. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady.
