Lany, Rae Ellen, and Grant,
I loved your aunts; they always seemed so unique and somehow exotic to me, and a little intimidating. I will never forget Leila eating the pansy flowers from the kitchen table vase when I was an impressionable teenager. She told me not to do the same, until I had done everything else in my life. To this day, I have passed up many, many pansy flowers!!! She still has an affect on me?probably a good thing.
I am saddened at Leila?s passing. But through her and our parents generation; ?the greatest generation?, we are linked through two centuries of our ancestor?s dreams, accomplishments, and sacrifices. We are better persons for it, they prepared us well for the challenges we have faced, and will face in the future.
