Obituary of Bruce L. Rogers
Hagaman, NY?Bruce L. Rogers, 62, of Lansing Road, died on arrival Friday morning at the at the St. Joseph?s Hospital in Syracuse, NY after being stricken. He was attending an auto show at the time.
Born March 7, 1944 in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Milton and Wilhelmina Pankratz Rogers. He was a 1962 graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Bruce was a U.S. Air force Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in Alaska at a Radar Base.
He was employed as a foreman for the D.P.W. for the City of Amsterdam for 35 years retiring in 2003.
He was a member of the C.S.E.A.; Right Coast Association of Syracuse and the New Wave Cruisers of Amsterdam.
Bruce loved spending time with his granddaughters, family and friends.
He enjoyed working and restoring old cars, especially his 1950 Chevy, and loved to go to car shows.
On February 5, 1967, he married the former Karen J. Lansing.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by his dear family, two sons, Steven C. Rogers and his wife Pamela of Rotterdam, NY and Thomas F. Rogers and his wife Wendy of Rotterdam, NY; a sister Rae D. Frachel of Minden, NY; twin granddaughters, Kiera J. and Morgan G. Rogers; a niece, a nephew and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Roland McDonald officiating.
Burial of his cremated remains will take place in the Hagaman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held for two hours prior to the funeral from 11 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
