Obituary of Donald H. Sweet

Mr. Donald H. Sweet, age 81, of Johnstown, died Friday morning, July 21, 2006 at Wells Nursing Home, Inc; Johnstown, following a long illness. He was born July 4, 1925 in Gloversville, the son of the late Arnold and Nellie Winchell Sweet. After attending Perth schools, he served in the Army from 1948 to 1954. He was an assembler, employed by N. A. Taylor Company; Gloversville, for over 35 years. Mr. Sweet was a member of VFW #125 and American Legion #20, both of Plattsburgh. He was a former member of the Gloversville Foresters and the Johnstown Eagles and Moose. He was married July 24, 1954 to Jane M. Lynch who survives. He is also survived by a brother, Ernest H. Sweet of Gloversville, a sister, Wanda B. Tomlinson of Broadalbin, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Francis Sweet. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday with the Rev. Wayne E. Jones Sr. officiating. Interment will take place at Perth Cemetery, Perth. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wells Nursing Home Inc., 201 W. Madison Ave., Johnstown, NY 12095.
