Obituary of Fred P. Brossart

Fred P. Brossart, 64, passed away peacefully Saturday morning August 5, 2006, at St. Mary?s Hospital after a brief illness. He was born at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, on July 27, 1942, to the late Fred and Mary Brossart. Fred graduated from high school in Patchogue, Long Island and received his nursing degree from Suffolk Community College in 1977. His professional career was as a registered nurse and he worked in that capacity for many years at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and the Pilgrim State Hospital on Long Island until moving to Rockwood, NY in 1984. He worked there at several local nursing homes and as a private duty nurse until moving to Canajoharie in 1992. Fred was best known for his amazing wit and open heart to family, friends and strangers alike. Fred was a lover of art, music and cooking, and had a self-peace many will never know. All who knew him will miss him. Peace at last. Fred is survived by his sisters, Loretta Simoneaux of Cabot Arkansas, and Lorelei Brossart of Burke, Virginia and a son, Brian Cummings of Amsterdam. There are no calling hours at Fred?s request, and cremation will take place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. His ashes will be placed on the south shore of Long Island and also the shore of the Big Sur, California. Contributions may be made to the Nursing Program at FMCC, in care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam 12010, to whom the family has entrusted his arrangements.
